Love Song Blog Hop!

Welcome to PaperCraftingWorld.com & CookingWithCricut.com's Love Song Blog Hop! Love is in the air and our Designers have come up with some great Valentine's Day projects inspired by their favorite love songs.

If you arrived here from visiting Linda @ Linda’s Creativity you're in the right place. If you're joining us mid-hop and would like to start at the beginning click here to go to Paper Crafting World’s Cooking With Cricut blog and check out what Melin has made!

I was inspired by Bon Jovi's "I'll Be There For You".  I love Bon Jovi and as soon as I had to think of a love song it popped into my head.  I think because that is what all love is about.  Whether it be a husband and wife love, a parent to child love or a God to us love, it is always about being there.  Here is the card I created with this song in mind . . .

I cut the hearts using Doodlecharms and they were actually "left over" from a different project that I will post later (next week).  The hearts are scored in the middle and put on with pop dots just in their centers (that affect is hard to tell from a photo).  The edges of the hearts are not inked, they are bleached.  I loved how they looked so when I was done with them for my other project (I know you're intrigued) I saved them for this card.  I printed the sentiment on my computer and just cut and rounded the edges.  I added two bling hearts and there you go!  Oh, I also used some white ink to just ink my black card stock a little so go along with the hearts.

We hope you’ll join us and link up your favorite love song inspired project at CookingWithCricut.com.  One lucky entry will be chosen by random.org to win a $10.00 gift certificate provided by PaperCraftingWorld.com!  And make sure you leave a comment, too! One lucky commenter will also receive a $10.00 PaperCraftingWorld.com gift certificate!

I also have some blog candy to give away because who doesn't love blog candy right!

In order to be eligible for the blog candy you need to leave a comment by 11:59 Monday (2/13/12) evening letting me know if you have ever had left over items from one project that you then decided had to be used in another project...you know the trash to treasure idea :)  I will draw the winner Tuesday morning.

Thanks so much for hopping with us today. Now head on over and visit Jen @ Musings of a Crafty Mom and see what she has created!

Got to love use up your leftovers!! Hmm . . . bleaching -- I can't wait to see what you've done, Debbie. Great card, love the distressed feel the bleaching gives along with the white ink you added.

Wonderful job Debbie! I love the idea of bleaching. I have seen some amazing things done with it...BUT I am so clumsy and GRACE is NOT my middle name that I am reluctant to try it...lol! Can't wait to see your other project. Must be another fabulous creation if you did THIS with the leftovers! You go girl!

Beautiful card! I also love the bleaching tecq, but have ruined to many clothes doing it, I am a real messy scrapbooker and cook. My leftovers are so close to my reach, love using them. I even have them grouped into colours and prints or plain. TFS your song and project.

Cool project. I love how it looks. I have never tried bleaching. Is it hard to do? I am so afraid I would make a hug mess. You ROCKED it.

Very sweet project and the bleached edges intrigue me. I keep a box of extra or left-over Cricut cuts (too, small, too large, wrong paper, etc.)that I always seem to find another use for - especially in a pinch.

I love the edge effect you got with the bleaching. The card is great. I made some background paper in a batik style for a project and I know what you mean. The leftover piece called to me that it had to be used in another project.

I love leftovers! I actually used some in the Cooking with Cricut Cookie Monster challenge last year. I used leftover scraps from a mason jar project to create snow for my Cookie Cottage!

Yes. In fact, I love all the paper I bought for my baby boy's book that a scrap has to be smaller than 1" squared for me to throw away. Otherwise it becomes an accent, a journal word highlight, whatever I can turn it into!

Way to use your scraps/leftovers! I love when I can do that. AND you ended up with a beautiful project too (that doesn't always happen for me. lol!). :)
