needed some thank you cards for the parents of my Girl Scout troop. They were so generous at Christmas and end of the
year and chipped in and purchased me gift cards and gave me other little gifts
so I wanted to send them a note of thanks.
It is nice to get unexpected gifts 😊 I used Stampin Up's
Sealed with Love stamp set and their Lovee Notes Framelits Dies. I really
enjoyed using them for the first time. I used my vagabond to cut the framelits, which I have only used once, so it was a fun time using items that just sit around and never get used!
I have really enjoyed sewing over these last several months. I have sew many simple things including dresses for my girls, skirts, pillow covers for my boys and a Jeep pillow for my hubby. One of my most favorite items though is this cute little baby pillow case dress and diaper cover for a friend. The pillow case dress is using a pattern I found online (versus just a stand rectangle) at Pretty Prudent Pillow Case Dress, then I used a pattern a found on a website I have visited SO much since I started sewing for the diaper cover. It is Made Everyday by Dana diaper cover .

Today I was ready to mail the little outfit so I thought I would use my Cricut to make a cute quick card. I have not done this in a while but it turned out cute even though I did not have a light pink paper for the face :) I sure hope she loves it and her little girl looks adorable in it. I wish I had started sewing many years ago when my girls were small!

Here is the outfit and card:
I made my hubby a cute little Jeep fabric pillow because he loves Jeeps and always steals my little pillow :)

I know this is a lot and is not everything I have created over these last 6+ months but just a snippet of what I have been up to craft wise :) I am hoping with summer and less evening activities I can make some more stuff soon.

Once we moved my craftroom to the garage it has not left me a lot of chances to get out there because it is detached so it is COLD! I did bring my sewing machine and Cricut inside to my small desk area in the kitchen. Yes, I said sewing machine. I bought it many many years ago and just started using it a couple of months ago. I am addicted. I am LOVING creating with it. I thought I would just do a dump post of some sewing/crafting/anything projects I have done over the last few months :)

Thanksgiving:
I made some simple skirts for the girls, they wore leggings underneath. I also used some leftover fabric and made a table runner.
Christmas:
I made a double layered Christmas skirt and then used my Cricut to cut out a Christmas tree. I think my favorite part of this was that the girls LOVED them and my Mady was so proud to tell her teacher that her mom made her outfit for her. So very sweet.
Teacher gifts:
I am working on some easy teacher gifts this year. My DD's helped put them together (although I am sure I did most of it :)). I ordered some little containers from 31 Gifts and put in hot chocolate, disposable cups, marshmallows, candy canes, candy and some chocolate spoons I made. I love that the girls are old enough to help! The girls also helped make Rudolph water bottles for their class party.
Unfortunately with the kids keeping me busy I do not get a lot of time in my craft room. My late husband had built a detached oversized two car garage many years ago before he passed and I decided recently to move my craft room out there, to allow my boys to each have their own room. I have to admit I was so sad to leave my pink and purple craft room but I know my oldest is so excited to have his own room so it is worth it (my girls will still have to share but get to move into the BIG room the boys used to share). Since I am not in my craft room much and my stuff is now a mess in the garage until I get it organized I have used my "free" time to try my hand at some wood working projects. I am not a prefectionist in any project so these are rough jobs but I am still proud of them.

The first is an idea from Home Depot. It is a simple beverage stand I used stain on the legs and shelves and chalkboard paint on the top :) I cut enough wood except for the top to make two. I have not bought another piece to cut the top for the second one but hope to do that sometime in the next couple of months.
The second is a DIY from http://alwaysneverdone.com/2015/02/25-sofa-table-tutorial/
I have been wanting something for behind my sofa and my love seat. I made the sofa table this weekend. I will work on the love seat one (same one but smaller) next weekend. I used a gray stain so that they would match the theme of my small living room. My oldest son helped with some on Saturday and my girls helped stain it Sunday. While they are not perfect, I am excited I can say I made them myself and that they are useful!
I just have not had time to use it, however, my new husband :) asked me to get us shirts for our familymoon to Disney so I decided to make them. Well then I decided to make the girls shirts since we were going to be there for Easter (my boys would NOT wear shirts if I made them). Then I thought I would make my Jeep obsessed hubby a funny shirt. Lastly (for now) I thought well I can make more so I made myself a sweatshirt to wear to all of my sons many many baseball games :) Needless to say I am OBSESSED with cutting iron on material with my Cricut. I love being able to use the Cricut Craft Room app to design what I want and then cut it later. I love that the purchases on the app use ITunes gift cards because I can get those for good deals especially around the holidays.
While I am sad I do not get to craft as often as I like I am so happy when I do get a chance everyone once in a while :)

Here are the pics of my shirts and sweatshirt :)
I cannot believe it but I got remarried on March 25, 2016. When my first husband passed I was only 35 but I did not think I would ever be able to love someone the way I loved him. Especially after being by his side through his illness. That was very draining but also rewarding. I feel so blessed to have been his wife and to be the mother of his children.

When Ricardo and I first started hanging out we were just friends but I feel in love with his sense of humor and his love for my children. I am also so blessed that he new Ed and is able to share memories with us and is not ever jealous of my ongoing love for Ed. He is very supportive of all of us keeping Ed in our hearts and lives. I am blessed.

On March 25th we were married in front of family and friends. I have joked the wedding was really for our girls (my 2 and his 1) as they had an idea of what they expected a wedding to be and they were not going for us just going to the courthouse. Neither of us did a big deal for our first wedding so this was nice to do. We were doing a beer and cupcake casual reception so I decided to do growlers as our centerpieces. I wanted to put something in them so I did a pin wheel using our gray and coral colors and using the We R Memory Keepers pin wheel punch. I loved them. I also ordered some labels online to put on them. We ordered koozies online as a party favors.

Instead of a honeymoon we did a familymoon to Disney :) I used my Cricut Explore Air to make us some shirts! They will be in tomorrow's post.

Here are the centerpieces :) I think they turned out cute and were not too difficult thank goodness!
With in the last week my fiance (yikes-yes I just typed that-I am engaged to be married in March) lost his best friend in a car accident and a family on my son's baseball team lost their daughter/step-daughter in a car accident. I wanted to mail a card because while notes on Facebook or text, nothing beats a handwritten card. I received so many while Ed was sick and when he passed and while they make me tear up, I still love to read them from time to time. I had some pre-cut cards that I bought on sale a while back so I just added a piece of paper using some button brads, a tag that I used some Recollection paper punches to make (two sizes, one in a striped paper and one in white) and I used a My Creative Time sentiment on the white tag, I then just used some chalk to color the white paper. I made two of the exact same cards just to make it easy.

Loss is never easy and of course helping Ricardo get through this brings up a lot for me, however, it also reminds me to rely on my Faith. I am so blessed to have that Faith, it pulls me though each day, good and bad. Thanks for stopping by.

WOW! Has it really
been that long since I posted? I cannot
believe it. Well unfortunately since Ed
passed I just have not had the time like I used to. I used to love coming to my craft/room office
at the end of the evening for a little bit a few nights a week. Ed would put the kids to bed while I worked
and then we would end our night together once I was done. It gave him time to watch TV which was his favorite
past time.

I have crafted a few times since my last post but
probably less than 10 times. I found
some pictures on my phone from my daughter’s 6th birthday so I
thought I would post those items just for fun.
If I can find old pics of the other fun items I have worked on over the
last year or so I will post those later.

My Mady Moo wanted a paint party but I could not afford to
go to one of those pottery places so I looked on Pinterest and found some ideas
to host our own. I rented a room at our
local community center but probably could have done it at home since it was
such a small group.

I ordered my painting supplies from Amazon, Oriental Trading
and bought some at AC Moore. I set up a
little station for each child to paint a teddy bear bank and a small canvas
picture. I also included crayons and
markers to color on their placemats.

LOVE it!!!!! I bought stickers (Mombo I
think) for the letters and then picked up some different art stickers from
Recollections (Michaels) they were actually PERFECT for the banner. My Mady Moo LOVED it.

I also made some creative juice by wrapping
juice boxes in duct tape (my new obsession) along with some free hand triangle

some creative juice waters with some free printables I found online (I wish I
remembered the site but I don’t, I will keep looking to add it). I also used rice crispy treats and pretzel
rods to make paint brushes using different color candy melts. I think those and the banner were my favorite
items. Lastly, we had to have colorfully

I had pinned some ideas on Pinterest and remembered a tic tac one called snowman poop or snowman kisses. I am a little weirded out by giving treats that are called poop, lol, so I decided to go with snowman kisses. Here are the little final products, my 4 year old helped a lot while we waited for my older daughter at gymnastics so she got to hold the final products :)
I just have not had the time or energy, being a single mom of 4 is keeping me busy and honestly until recently I have not had the desire to craft. I began running back in May and did my first 5K in September and that became my release, much like crafting used to be for me. Now that it is cold and I do not like to run in the cold I may have to turn back to crafting :-) I am sure the teachers miss it too as I have not done anything for a long time for them. Maybe I can do something for Christmas.

Anyway, my oldest son's football team went to the Super Bowl for their league last weekend. Last year my late husband dragged himself to the game and the coach was so sweet and had him do the pregame speech and even gave him the game ball. I know this was weighing a lot on my 12 year old (and me) as this year came up and they made it to the Super Bowl again. I wanted to do something special for the game so I made buttons for myself, my girls and my mother-in-law to wear. For my two sons I printed the same picture and laminated it and they put it in their shoes :) (my younger son is the team water boy). This was all very last minute (Saturday around 11am for a 3pm game!) but I think they turned out cute. Next year I would like to do one for the entire team for the moms but with just a picture of their son on it.

I used just punches for the buttons and strips of paper and ribbon for the bottom pieces. Also, the football helmet and football are actual buttons I had bought as part of a sports pack on clearance and I just cut the back off and used glue dots to attach them. Also, I had the stickers left from our Relay for Life campaign last Spring. I was very proud to wear mine and was even asked several times who made it for me :) Honestly I love this picture of those two, it is probably the last picture of just them two together that I have and they both look so handsome, even as sick as Ed was at that point.

Well the button and the picture in the show must have brought them some luck because the won again! Here is a shot of all 4 of my kiddos celebrating big brothers win. Love them all-more than cupcakes :)
One of my closest friends is getting married in May and my girls are the flower girls :) They are so excited to wear their wedding dresses (as they call them).

Her bridal shower was this past weekend and I have been wanting to try glass etching. So I did a very simple glass etching on a glass baking dish as part of the gift. I used Alpahlicious to cut the letters out of vinyl. I was really impressed with how simple it is and can't wait to do more!

I also made a very simply card using Artiste for the bow and Art Philosophy for the background.
Here are some pictures.
I have used them all up so I have to make myself some more (that is not a complaint because I have so many people to thank-I am blessed). So tonight I had some time while the kids entertained themselves and had some scrap paper and ribbon laying around (from Valentines if you cannot tell) and a new Thank You stamp from Peachy Keen Stamps. I also added a cute Peachy Keen face and some faux stitching to my heart :)
I was able to get 10 cards done tonight which I think with 4 kids running around is a success!
He was an amazing husband, father, friend, son and brother. It has been a tough week and half for our children but they are really hanging in there, going to school, keeping with their routine and making me proud. My oldest son even did a reading at my husband's mass this past Monday. I of course am trying to get things organized and handled before I go back to work next week-yikes :(

Here is Ed's obituary:
I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Unfortunately my husband has not been doing well and my cousin passed away unexpectedly the weekend before so it was not the best Valentine's Day for me but I still wanted to make it super special for the kids and those around us.

I had purchased some $1 note pads and pen packs back in January and knew I would make simple Valentine treats for the teachers. I used the same idea I used back in December for the preschool teachers and just used one sheet of paper to make a cute little wrapping for the notepad, tied it with ribbon, added the pen and an easy tag I made on the computer and punch out with a circle punch.

Then for the boys I thought the You Rule idea found here was too cute to pass up (and it was super easy with the free printable).

Lastly, for the girls I wanted to use my Silhouette Cameo that I received for Christmas since I had not used it so I did the butterfly lollipop holders for them. Very simple, I just let them put a couple stickers on each and they were done! It was nothing fancy but I am glad they all got done (early) and saved my a little bit of stress the night before.

I also made the girls some more bleach pen shirts by just freehand drawing some hearts on. Here is my MooMoo girl modeling hers :)

For my kids I just did small buckets with little a little candy, a few trinkets for the girls and some baseball cards for the boys. The girls also received balloons because they LOVE them and Mady has been asking for a heart balloon for weeks. The girls and I made these cute mailboxes for their American Girls a few nights before and so the AG's were SO lucky to find a card and a necklace in their mailboxes on Valentine's Day also. This cute idea came from right here! The only difference was I used a glass candle stick holder from the $ store versus a wood one to paint. You have to stop by The Real Thing with the Coake Family, I am just loving her blog!

The week before last was Catholic Schools Week for my 3 oldest children and the last day of the week is Teacher Appreciation Day and each year I try to make something for the teachers. This year I decided to make a TEAcher appreciation gifts for each teacher (it has become more work since my oldest entered middle school there at the school (it goes from pre-k to 8th) because he has so many teachers but I do not want to leave anyone out. I also do a gift for the Principal and the Admin. Assistant because they are so wonderful. I found this idea online and LOVED it immediately so I began picking up the supplies back in January and actually got most of them done before the last minute :) I put a tea bag, three packs of sugar and a spoon inside the cup. I made the tags by hand cutting the pencil and it pieces so that took a lot more work than I expected, but I did not mind because they turned out so cute. I used My Creative Time My Teacher Rocks sets for the sentiment stamps and I used a Peachy Keen set from their August kit for the pencil and face stamps.
I also wanted to do something for the other teachers so I decided to do this idea I had seen on Pinterest. But I make one tag for each soda in the 6 pack, just so if the teacher wanted to keep the tag they could. They were easy enough to print onto card stock (I made the from portion in word) and then I just punched out each piece and used adhesive to put them together with the ribbon in between the two pieces of the tag. I put three 6 packs with the tags in the teachers lounge that morning. I received multiple thank yous at pick-up last week.
I just used left over Christmas paper for the cards also. Here is a peak at two of the cards.
She wanted to have her birthday out at like BounceU or somewhere like that but I could not believe the prices of those places. I decided to rent a little room at our local community center and do a girly Princess Tea Party. We had make-up, dancing, finger foods, marshmallow pops and tea cup cupcakes! I did not get to use my Cricut for anything, I wanted to make centerpieces but things with my husband have been tough and between him and the 4 kids I just ran out of time. Luckily my super craft friend Stephannie (born2beach.blogspot.com) is always amazing! She made the cutest birthday banner and the MOST adorable little purses that had a lip gloss and nail polish in them. She is the BEST!
As you can tell from the pics pink was the theme :) I tried to find or make candies/snacks with the pink theme in mind except for the actual food (mini sandwiches and hotdogs in crescent rolls). The girls really seemed to enjoy the party, what can be better than make-up, dancing and lots of sugar!
I wanted to make here a cute card and love this set from The Stamps of Life. I do not like hand cutting out images so instead of their bee stamp I used Create a Critter to cut a cute bee for the card! I gave her a cute Peachy Keen Princess face and an action wobble to finish her off. The card was quick and cute! Just what I needed. My girls love playing with her before we gave it away :)
I knew I wanted to do a snowman this year because I had recently purchased some Peachy Keen snowman face stamps and I had found this cute paper pack at Michaels :) I also wanted to do an unique fold.

Here is what I came up with.

I used my Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge for the snowman and my computer for the inside sentiment. I also wrote a note to each person on the inside just to make it a little more personalized. I added some pics, a twine scarf and I was done! I had these made back in November but needed to add the pictures so I did not get them out until mid December (I am going to start in October next year :)).

My youngest only has 6 kids in her class (thank goodness) so I had to hurry to get them done the last day of class before break which was very early for her school for some reason. I used a digital print from Paper Crafting World for the cute girl elf. I wish I had time to individually cut them out but did not, I also wish I had a machine that cut SVG's but I don't :( So this was the best I could do in a hurry. The Elf Girl is so cute and reminds of my Mady Moo which is why I used her :)

I also needed something quick for the teachers. I had some Christmas themed magnetic notepads from last year and I had picked up some GIANT pens from the dollar store so I knew those would work. I just love how easy these were and how cute they turned out. I used the directions for the paper pad "cover" from here.
My girlfriend Stephannie made me the cutest altered CD case with a Starbucks gift card in it (you can see it here) and she also gave me some empty CD cases to use myself so when I need a gift card holder for my son's good friends birthday I new I wanted to use one! I used Stephannie's as inspiration.

I hand cut the paper just using the case for measurement for the front and back covers (put inside the CD case), I used some sports themed paper I bought years ago from AC Moore for the football patterned paper, then I cut the football for the outside from Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge and I embossed it used my Cuttlebug. I used My Creative Time's All Around Birthday for the Happy Birthday circle stamp and then I used the football from My Creative Time's Touchdown stamp set for the center. I used the My Creative Time's gift card die to cut my giftcard holder for the inside and stamped it with the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Gift Card Sentiment stamp set. I added some faux stitching with my white gelly roll pen and some more of the football themed paper. I used a few glue dots to stick the gift card holder on and filled it with a Sports Authority gift card (it is getting hard and harder to buy for my 11 year olds friends but they all love sports!). I hope he liked it!
She and I have worked together for almost 7 years so I wanted to make her a little gift. I saw this purse explosion box at http://qbeesquest.blogspot.com/2011/01/explosion-box-purse.html and knew I wanted to try it. Once it was made I thought it would be perfect as a post it note holder for her desk in her new office so I just added a pen and some post its. I think it turned out cute for my first try :)
The best part is I only used 3 pieces of paper, a ribbon and velcro (to keep it closed). One for the box, the black for the top (I used Art Philosophy to cut the topper) and accents and the pink animal print. I love how cute it turned out and may do some in Christmas paper if I can find some cute Christmas post it pads for the teachers. You could easily make it a gift card holder or add some candy. So many possibilities! I added the Thank You from a My Creative Time stamp set but you could do any sentiment here!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a crafty day!
Then of course my 4 year old had to have one too...another $40. They come unfinished so I had to stain them...I have never done that before! I bought a water based stain and finish and it turned out fine for my first time :) Then I used my Cricut and the Artiste Cartridge to cut their names from vinyl and then I used it as a template to paint the girls names on the chairs so there is NO confusion on who's chair is who's :) In the end it was a great idea because it puts them at the perfect height for the table (no more sitting on their knees!).

Here are the finished chairs, the only issue was my 3 year old kept asking for her white chair back (because the chairs are so light/white looking when they are not stained), she finally got used to her stained chair :)
One of my dearest friends Stephannie is best friends with a very nice lady who works at a hotel in Ocean City, MD where we wanted to go. She got us a room and even sent us some wonderful dessert that night (strawberries and chocolate cake!). We would have used our money to go because we wanted to go away but honestly the money we saved made a huge difference. I wanted to make Brenda a card to thank her. I just recently purchased the Faceless Fall 2 set from Peachy Keen Stamps and have been wanting to use it. Why as soon as you add a Peachy Keen face to anything does it become the cutest thing ever? I do not know! I used my Everyday Character Assortment for the face. I used My Creative Times All Around Everything for the thank you circle and I used a thank you sentiment from the My Teacher Rocks set for the Thank You in the middle of the circle. I think the patterned paper is from a DCWV fall stack I had from last year. I hope Brenda likes the card :)
LOL. I used the side stair step card tutorial over at Split Coasters. I used Sweet Treats for the cuts and a cheapy $1 stamp for the happy birthday sentiment. I added a ribbon and some bling.
