End of the Year Teacher's Gifts

As I may have mentioned before, I am one of the room parents for my son's second grade class so for the end of the year gift I made these two little flower "pots" for each of the teachers. I had the children write a sentence on a petal I cut out first then I put them on a larger flower. On the back of one of the flowers was a pocket with gift cards in it. I could not find a little chalk board so I made my own using a little rectangular piece of wood and a piece of black chalk board paper (I had bought it in a roll years ago and even though it works I decided to use white stickers for the name instead) I added the little apple and the little Bible with the Cross because they go to a Catholic School. I took them to the teachers today and they loved them! TFL.  I used walk in my garden for the flowers but I cannot remember which cartridge was used for the actual petals.  I used some white creative memories stickers I had sitting around.  Tonight I am working on some little easy items for the other teachers/helpers at the school and hopefully a retirement card for my older son's 4th grade teacher who is leave.  I am hoping to get something small done for her too.  If so I will post those too.  TFL.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers, aunts, sisters, Godmothers, etc. out there.  We had a very busy weekend this weekend.  On Saturday, my 7 year old made his First Holy Communion which was wonderful and exciting.  We had a small gathering at our house to celebrate after, here is a picture of his very simple little cake that I made (I bought the pan when my older son made his First Holy Communion 2 years ago).

On Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day (I still had to teach Sunday school of religion in the AM) at my sister in laws in the afternoon.  We also stopped by my mother in laws to wish her a Happy Mothers Day as well.  I made a card with a little gift card for my sister in law and then I made little card books for my mom and my mother in law with pictures I took of the kids the day before when they were all dressed nice (which is rare :)).  I thought they turned out cute.  I got the idea for the card front from http://thecroppingcanuck.blogspot.com/.  I used Walk in My Garden for the flowers and watering can.  I used binder rings to put the card together.  I had purchased them at Staples in the $1 sections months ago and thought they were perfect.  Here are some pictures of the cards and our afternoon :)  TFL.

Thanks a bunch...again!

My 4th grader has his final munchkin choir concert today so I wanted to make a little thank you for her.  My son picked out this vase in the $1 section at Target so I used my Walk in My Garden cartridge to cut out the the flowers in multiple sizes then I hot glued them to some sticks that I colored green.  I cut the grass by hand and I cut out the thanks a bunch from the Walk in My Garden cartridge as well.  I hope she likes it!  TFL.

My two boys are participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life this May in honor of my grandfather who passed away last year, after suffering for over 3 years with lymphoma.  They received numerous donations and surpassed their fund raising goal ($100 each).  I wanted to make thank you cards for the boys to write a note in for each person who donated to them so I made 6 cards this week.  I did all of the cuts from Walk In My Garden then I took them and all of my supplies with me to baseball practice Monday and Tuesday evening!  Last night I added the stickles and they were done.  I love being able to multi-task and get some stuff done while also watching the boys at practice!  I hope the cards show how much we appreciate their donations.  TFL.
