A Tangled Birthday

So my little girl (who the day she turned 4 asked me if she would be 4 forever and I begged her to stay that way...and then the very next night asked how long until she turns 5 and can wear eye make-up) turned 4 this past Saturday.  As you may remember from the invitations I posted earlier she had a Tangled themed birthday.  Unfortunately, the kids and I have been a little in and out of being under the weather so Mommy did not do much decorating for the party.  I did two Rapunzel themed hair things...first I put some yellow yarn that looks like hair and wrapped it around our banister coming from upstairs to downstairs. Fairly simple.  Then I took some more yellow yarn and braided it (boy that took more time than I expected) and put it on the front door.  It turned out cute (I did not get a picture of the hair going up the stairs :(:

I also tried to quickly do my daughters hair and luckily she loved it although it could have been much nicer :)

Lastly, I made the tower cake idea I found on the same site I found the invitations and braid on the door idea (here):

My girls and I also made some cupcakes and I just used store bought chocolate icing and flowers to put on top but they turned out yummy and cute!  They love helping me bake, for some reason they always want to taste the flour even though I tell them it is not sugar!  LOL.  Unfortunately, when I took pictures of them helping my flash did not work so the pictures are horrible but here is one anyway:

My younger son (8) was sick and quarantined the entire time but we did take him food and a cupcake...here he is enjoying it:

My oldest child (my 10 year old son) helped a lot with setting up and taking pictures for me so he is not in any but here is in from the morning birthday breakfast (donuts and mini pancakes).  He is the tallest one :)

Well, although I did not make a banner or lanterns like I wanted everyone seemed to have a good time and Ally had a great time.  She has a preschool celebration tomorrow (I am crossing my fingers she does not end up sick) so I am planning on making some goodie bags and make cake pops with a new cake pop maker my niece bought me for Christmas!  We will see!

Thanks for stopping by, have a craft day!

Halloween Baking

We decided to have a small Halloween party at our home (I made those cute door hanger invitations a few posts back) this past weekend.  I did not have time to make any decorations or goodie bags for the party since I was doing this for the kids at school but I did get to make some cupcakes.  I did two quick and easy decorations for the cupcakes so I thought I would share those :)

Here is the mummy (cutest mummy ever right, LOL):

Here is the spider web (covered a bunch of cupcakes in icing and then drew on the spider web and added a fake spider :)

I am not a star cake decorator but they worked for us :)

I am not up late finishing up goodie bags for the boys classes and teachers...hope I don't look like a zombie tomorrow, even if it is Halloween :)

No time (or energy) for crafting... :(

So I really have been in a crafting slump.  I did end up doing these cute Gatorade bottle wraps (super easy just on the computer) for my son's birthday party.  I gave those and a pack of baseball cards to each guest.  Otherwise I have not needed anything crafty but I am getting ready to make some baby shower themed items for a baby shower in August at work.  I am planning to do a It's A Girl banner and a diaper cake.  I may also try a small mini album.  We will see what time allows!  I have also been working on my craft room and I WON (bought as my husband points out) Car Decals on Ebay so I am SUPER excited to make some new decals for our car because my flip flops that I had wore off the back window of my van :(  I also ordered some stamps online and I ordered a mat and some printable vinyl for my Imagine so maybe I will use it soon, LOL.

Here are some pics of the Gatorade bottles, the banner hung up outside, the cupcakes and cake and the birthday boy!  TFL and Happy Crafting!

Bake Sale!

My sons 4th grade class is having a bake sale today so I made some (yummy) chocolate chip cookies (sorry I forgot to take pictures) and some cupcakes.  The theme is Mardi Gras so I used my Cricut Sweet Treats card to cut cupcake holders, then I used Don Juan to cut out the fleur-de-lis on 2 sides (if I had planned better I could have designed it on my Gypsy but it was last minute...it still works out).  I used the cutouts to decorate the mini cupcake holders so it worked out well.  I thought they turned out cute.  I also attempted to cut some fleur-de-lis from fondant on my Cricut Cake, I got a couple out but it was late and I was having trouble (I have not mastered the texture that the fondant needs to be to cut well yet).  It was fun trying and I had some helpers (my two girls).  TFL.

My baby turned 3!

My daughter (3rd child out of 4) turned 3 last Friday and she wanted a Ballerina Princess Party. I made one small sign as test of using my Gypsy (love it), I made cute little crown out of gum paste for her actual birthday (Friday) and then made a cute little party hat, and some cupcakes for the party we had on Sunday.  I also ordered some dairy free white candy to melt and I tinted it pink and made lollipops using a mold.  I really cannot believe she is 3 already. My youngest, who is 19 months, also enjoyed the Princess theme!  My boys were hiding from pictures most of the day so not too many of them this batch!  TFL.

My baby boy turns 7!

My youngest son turned 7 this week and since it is July and HOT, we did a water themed birthday party. He loves swedish fish so I had to come up with a cake/cupcake idea to include swedish fish. Since we just got back from the beach last weekend I decided a beach them would work. We had some water fun with a small pool and water balloons! Those always help to beat the heat! We also do a breakfast on their actual birthday of donuts and pancakes! TFL.

Baseball Season, Is It Really Over?

Both of my sons played baseball this year and I think my husband and I enjoyed it more than they did, if that is possible.  For the end of the year parties I wanted to make something special so for my 6 year olds team I coordinated the gifts and made cards (which I forgot to take pictures of) but also made little mini cupcakes that looked like baseballs and I cut out little baseball gloves from Sports Mania and put them on the gloves on a tray, I took the liners off so the kids could just grab one and munch away.  For my older sons team I made sour cream containers with a baseball eraser and Hershey Kisses inside, both were a big hit.  Here are pictures of them both:

My Baby Boy Turned 9!!!!

Yesterday my oldest, my very first baby, turned 9.  For some reason I am having a hard time with it.  I think it is because double digits are next.  NOOOO!  In celebration (and because he was supposed to have a baseball game) I made some baseball cupcakes (baked in cake cones) and cut out baseball gloves from Sports Mania, cut a hole in them and put the cones in so it looked like a baseball in a glove.  I thought they turned out very cute!  They were also yummy!  The kids (and grown-ups) enjoyed them.  His party is this Sunday, I am not sure what I will make for those but I am sure some how the Cricut will be involved!
